Fueling the Immune System Could Lead to Better Breast Cancer Outcomes Among African-American Women By Wayne Holloway

According the a recent article published in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, African-American women do not fare well in breast cancer outcomes. The statistics are grim. One study bore these results:

  • 72.1 percent of African-American woman were diagnose before age 65.
  • 50.3 percent of Caucasian women were diagnose before age 65.
  • 52.4 percent of African-American women had localized disease (not spread beyond breast).
  • 68 percent of Caucasian women had localized disease (not spread beyond breast).
  • Overall five-year survival rate for African-American women is 68.6 percent.
  • Overall five-year survival rate for Caucasian women is 79.4 percent.
Clearly, the numbers speak for themselves.

WHY AFRICAN-AMERICAN WOMEN HAVE SUCH POOR OUTCOMES

If you are a woman, particularly, an African-American woman, coping with this affliction, or, if you know someone who is, you will find the above report disturbing. Rightly so. Yet, the reasons for this disparity are not limited to a single factor There appear to be several. For example:

  • Serious socioeconomic factors such as lifestyle, income and family history, among African American women affects their approach to the disease
  • Insufficient screening guidelines for detecting breast cancer in African-American women
  • African-American women are less likely to have surgery.
  • Lower socioeconomic status typically results in late stage diagnosis

However, this problem is much larger than any one individual can tackle, so, if you are an African-American woman, it is to your advantage know what personal, proactive steps you can take to improve your chances of not getting breast cancer, or, how to improve your chances for survival if you do develop the disease.

HOW ALL WOMEN CAN HAVE BETTER RESULTS

A very simple strategy is "immuno-therapy." What is immunotherapy? Well, the basic idea is, enhancing the way the immune system works, so that the body itself can mount a stronger defense again diseases of any type. This is significant, since cancers often develop due to a compromised immune system.

As a direct result of the research performed by the brilliant researcher and Career Investigation, Dr. Gustavo Bounous, MD, science has uncovered a "master player" in the field of immune health. It is a small molecule called glutathione, produced naturally within every cell of the body.

Dr. Bounous, in conjunction with renown immunologist, Dr. Patricia Kongshavn, PhD, discovered that this critical molecule is essential for the functioning an optimized immune system. In fact, without adequate levels of glutathione, the immune system is compromised; thereby allowing the development of numerous disease states, including cancers. The Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) (your doctors' prescription "Bible")specifically states that cancer is considered a "glutathione deficient state."

In basic terms, here is the bottom line: When glutathione levels are high, the immune response inhibits the development of tumors inside the cell. When glutathione levels are low, you have a much greater chance of getting cancer.

So a key factor centers around keeping glutathione at optimum levels. To do that, the cells need a rich supply of the rate-limiting amino acid, cysteine. Without cysteine, the cells simply cannot manufacture sufficient amounts of glutathione to fuel the immune system adequately.

Further, cysteine along with its other 'partner' amino acids, glycine and glutamate, needs to be able to travel through the digestive system without being destroyed in the gut, so that this powerful "cargo" can be delivered directly into the cell. This was the challenge. How could it be met?

YOU CAN TAKE AN 'ACTION STEP' NOW TO IMPROVE YOUR BREAST CANCER OUTCOME

Drs. Bounous and Kongshavn discovered a proprietary undenatured whey protein isolate that could successfully deliver the needed amino acids directly into the individual cells for the proper production of glutathione. As a result, higher glutathione levels equals a stronger, more responsive immune system.

To date, there is only one all-natural undenatured whey protein supplement that has been clinically proven to do this safely and consistently, and that is highly respected in the scientific and medical communites.

Interestingly, one of the seventy (70) method-of-use patents held by this unique whey protein is as an "Anti-Cancer Therapeutic Compositions Containing Whey Protein Concentrate." This means that this protein is proven to raise glutathione, which can function as an anti-cancer agent.

You owe to yourself and your family to learn more about the benefits of this ground-breaking technology.

It is a very dangerous issue which sometimes most of the women are not notice about it.

Early detection is the best defense and also a better chance for successful treatment and surgery. There are 3 ways to detect breast cancer early which is self-awareness and mammography.

1.Self-awareness: Women who chooses to perform breast exams should have a correct technique to performs the clinical examinations. If find out any changes to their breast, they should promptly report to their doctor and not to worry too much because lumps are not necessarily abnormal and most lumps are detected and tested are not cancerous.

2. Mammography: Mammography is the simple, low-close breast x-ray examination. It is one of the ways to detect breast cancer before the lump can feel. It is done by two plastics plate that placed in each of the breast by using a x-ray machine then gently pressed and some of the women will feel discomfort during the compression. It is encourages women over 50 years old do the mammography.

Save your life by screening tools which should be continue for women either over 50 years old or younger in order to maintain a good health condition, prevent the breast cancer and survive from it.
